The Good and the Bad

This is a bit of a rambly post so bear with me!

The good news: As of yesterday, I’m done writing Emergent! Actually I think it was 3am this morning but anyway. I was aiming to be done by the end of July, so I’m ahead of schedule, which is great considering my laptop’s death caused some delays.

The bad news: After my laptop died, my desktop computer died too sometime after, which was about a week ago I believe. Luckily, I had been backing up my files every day so I didn’t lose any progress there. However, with no computer left, I figured Emergent’s publication would be delayed for who knew how long.

More good news: I have a Windows tablet. It sucked writing on it at first but after fiddling with it a bit, it’s definitely bearable, and that’s what I used to finish writing the third book.

More bad news: The tablet is quite old and slow, so I don’t think I’d be able to create the cover on it.

So, I’m feeling very antsy right now with not being able to work on the cover! Since I can’t work on that, I’m getting started on editing, but I’m very distracted since I keep wanting to work on the cover. I’m hoping to get my desktop fixed within a week. We’ll see if it works out that way. I also need to pick up something that I’ll be using for the main cover image. Won’t be able to do that until this weekend. If I can get my desktop fixed soon then Emergent should be out by beginning of September (have to account for the time it takes for proofs to get here and such). I’m so tempted to just do a random cover for now that the manufacturers supply just so I can order proofs already but I think that’d be a waste of money since I’d want to order more proofs when it’s got the official cover on it. Anywho, that’s all for now I think. I’ll probably not do another update on Emergent until it’s published just because I’m busy as heck.

Ciao for now!

Projected Projects for 2019

With Renascence finally out, I’m on to the next things on my list for 2019. The problem is that I have four things I want to do!

  1. Make Dragons’ Myth into an eBook
  2. Make Renascence into an eBook
  3. Write the third Dragons’ Myth book
  4. Write an unrelated book

I don’t know if I will be able to get all four done in 2019, but that’s what I will aim for. Converting the first two books of the Dragons’ Myth series into eBooks should take considerably less time than writing a book, simply because it’s already written and all I’d have to do is change the formatting. Dragons’ Myth Sequel News

The last time I gave an update regarding the sequel was when I said I wouldn’t update until I was done editing and the cover, as far as I remember. Well, I’m excited to announce that I’m done those two steps, and the proof copy has arrived! It arrived a couple weeks ago, but Christmas time was busy and I haven’t had much time to do anything regarding it.

My goal was to be done the sequel in time for Christmas, but to be honest, I was lazy. I could’ve easily had it done in time, but I procrastinated! Anyway, now I and my partner-in-editing will be going through the proof a few times to edit it. I’m hoping to get it done sometime this month, but don’t hold me to that. If I feel it’s necessary, I might take a bit longer to do go through it a few extra times, but I will see how it goes.

The next time I post an update will be when the book is complete and ready to buy on Amazon. I’m really excited for its completion, as I feel like it’s been five or more years in the making, and I’m hoping it lives up to my own hype and that everyone enjoys it!

Halfway There

Last night, the Dragons’ Myth sequel officially got to 50% completion, which I am extremely happy about! I also have the synopsis done already, which is a huge relief, as I’ve always struggled with condensing a 400+ page novel into a couple of short paragraphs. But who knows, maybe I’m getting better at it! I’ve also played around with the cover design a bit. I know how I want it to look, but I just have to take the time to make it, and make it look good.

On another note, I surprisingly already know the next book’s title, and more than likely the cover as well. I say “surprisingly”, because I usually can’t think of the title and cover that fast! However, I’m still not sure if I’m going to write the third instalment after the second, or if I’m going to write a separate book first. I don’t want to give anything away, but there would be something I would want to do with this separate book which I would like to happen before the third of the Dragons’ Myth series. But regardless, I’ll think about that more later, once I have the sequel published.

I’ll post another update when I reach 3/4 completion!
